This is a story that started about 12 years ago. I was at one of my neighbors’ birthday party and that’s where I met Lavinia. During the years we haven’t really spoke much, but we did have lots of common friends: quite a few from her secondary school class mates ended up being my high school class mates. Anyhow, the point is that we both knew about the existence of the other.
The second part of the story, a small event that honestly I quite forgot about until a few months ago, took place before I came to Denmark. It was the summer right before, when I was getting all ready for the trip of my life. That is when some guy told me he already knew somebody that has been studying in Denmark for a year. He was determined to introduce us but… I don’t really remember what happened in the end, the point is that I never got to find out who the other person was…
… until a few months ago. That was when Lavinia found me on Facebook. She was the one that I was supposed to be introduced to. Unlike our common friend did with me, he told her what my name was and she remembered the whole thing – because she knew she knew me! So after a year she got a grab of me on the net.

We met again in November, when I went to her place for dinner. I promised her to return the favor, but as lately we have both been quite busy, me with moving out and exams, she with her Master thesis, we delayed this meeting until yesterday. So yesterday she came for dinner and I was very determined to have proper Romanian food! We ate our precious mămăliguţă, with Romanian cheese, sour cream and onion and, as a second part, with some proper Romanian pig meat and sausage that my parents sent me a couple of weeks ago. It was mirific! We ended it with some amazing ice cream and a bit of play time on the Wii. After that, of course, we had a girls night out with a couple of her friends and a promise to see each other more often.

Do not count on me to get Danish food. You should either count on restaurants, Jesper or his parents :)
